Here’s a healthy and tasty muesli recipe that won’t cost you an arm and a leg!
INGREDIENTS
4 cups rolled oats or rice puffs
1-2 cups corn flakes
½ cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped almonds (or almond meal)
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup pepitas (Pumpkin seeds)
¼ – ½ cup chia seeds
½ cup sultanas (avoid dried fruits with sulphur dioxide, additive #220)
¼ cup dried dates
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
METHOD
Mix all ingredients
Pour into a bowl with your favourite milk or milk alternative
May be eaten raw, or simmered as a porridge, or toasted
TOASTING METHOD
Spread muesli on a shallow baking tray
Toast in moderate heat oven for up to 10 minutes
*NOTE; ingredients include nuts and salicylates so may not be suitable for all people
